The Dogworks - Clever Dog Training Solutions

One-to-One Training & Behaviour Modification Programs

Sometimes our dog’s behaviour can be difficult to manage and understand. At The Dogworks, we know that dog behaviour problems can be worrying and confusing, and can sometimes lead to a breakdown in the relationship between you and your dog.
Our behaviour programs aim to restore this relationship so that you can both enjoy life together.
Some problems are not suitable for treatment in a class environment, and some dogs need help before they can cope in classes.
For example, if your dog is aggressive or reactive to other dogs then we need to help your dog cope around other dogs before putting them into a class. Alternatively your dog may guard their food or bed from the family at home, home sessions are more useful for this.

We take a holistic approach to working with your dog. Most animals only display unwanted or troublesome behaviours when something is not right in their life, and the dog is trying to make things better!
Our job is to look at the problem behaviour in detail, assess the rest of the dog's life and establish a treatment plan, also called a behaviour modification plan. We are interested in why the dog is behaving as they do – behaviours happen for a reason, and continue because they 'work' in some sense. We teach the dog how to cope in a more relaxed manner, and reward them for these new behaviours.
We base our assessments, diagnosis and treatment on the most up to date evidence about how dogs think, react and learn.
When preparing your report, we'll go right into the finer details and look at every aspect of your dog's life right down to diet, routine, lifestyle and give you a plan that is individual to you and that will change your dog's behaviour for good.
We designed 3 Programs for you to choose from depending on the nature of your issues. If you need help deciding, just give us a call and we can talk to you about your individual requirements.
